Mark and Jamie Run

Getting There

In the beginning we had to run for 20 minutes, walk for 1, then run again. Then we had to do 25, 1, 25. We just chopped 30, 1, 30. Now, 60 minutes is 1/6 more time than 50 (obviously) but we did not travel more than a 1/6 extra… we did about half a loop, three and half in total, and thus about 11kms. I also did a cheeky little 20kms on the city bike today. I have to say, nothing I do is comfortable. I was in agony today with my back, especially for the first few miles. But, despite the utter lack of energy – I feel hungover everyday – despite the aches and pains and despite every sinew in me wanting to stay in bed, we are getting there and every now and then, we actually enjoy it…

In years of getting shit done, I’ve learned that you must surround yourself with inspiration. Read, watch, sing. With this in mind, I am off to watch the ultimate story of not giving up. I am off to watch the Expendables. Sly, you are the man.

I want a full report of that abomination of an idea for a film.

Well your maths is crap, but have you tried doing sprint intervals?

I’ve only done it training for a 10k, but I would jog for 5 to warm up then sprint for 1, slow jog for 1 x 4 or 5 and jog back. Only takes about 20 minutes but is surprisingly tough and seems to be pretty effective at improving speed and stamina.

    Adrian, mate,

I came back knackered, from a run, and wrote that. I think I am ok with the training I am doing. Happy to be chopping about 10kms an hour and we have a trainer helping us.

    JK,

Quality mate. Some lazy CGI, plot is thin, but in a packed cinema, beer and popcorn in hand, it was all top class entertainment. Jason Statham looks rock hard, you would not want to fight him.
